Small scale mining in Africa

OSM is providing tailor made solutions in each case due to the complexity of ore materials and to increase the yield of gold in the critical steps from sluice system, Oreloop separation and improve commercial gold yields by removal of impurities. The OSM strategy is to establish more homogeneous ore material in the mentioned steps applying consecutive separation processes combining size and density separation. The separation technology substitutes directly the panning process and improve the geo-fluxing by fine removal of impurities. OSM is also developing an extended sluice bed system, which partially substitutes the traditional sluice bed system. 

In Africa we are providing the following:

• Presence and operation from our country office with local staff
• Support from the main office in Sweden;
• Laboratory supported activities;
• Prototype testing in-situ (on location) and process optimization;
• Add-on technologies to existing mines;
• Mobile units for rehabilitation of old mine areas;

The business model is based on MOMS (Management, Operation, Maintenance and Service). We are collaborating with local partners and will promote inter-university collaboration on Sustainable Mining in the Region.
