A new approach to mining

Sustainable mining of minerals, and metals, as well as metal processing is required for the green transition mitigating climate change, where minerals and metals (e.g. critical metals) are required. OSM wishes to contribute to a sustainable mining by resource optimization (more yield for the same amount of energy), reduction of environmental impact (reuse of ore material, water recycling, reduced chemical usage, remediation of mines and rehabilitation of old mines).

Benefits

  • A new separation technology leads to new grinding strategies resulting in less waste materials, less usage of chemicals,  and increase potential reuse of mining waste;
  • Less impurities in concentrates improve geo-fluxing and  can reduce the amount of chemicals applied;
  • Resource optimization through additional metal exploitation and reuse of ore materials;
  • Reduction of environmental impact (through recycling of water, and separation of hazardous fractions).

OSM wishes to follow the OECD due diligence Guideline for Sustainable Mining, target UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDG) and are developing its ESG policies on continuous improvements of its targets.
